Dance Company is open to committed dancers of all year groups. There are auditions that happen at the beginning of every term to select the most dedicated and enthusiastic students.
This term (Spring 2010) the company will be working with another school on a joint collaborative project resulting in workshops and performances off site.
This is a new club in 2010, requested by students. It is open to all years, boys and girls, and the aim is to learn set material, develop material and put performance pieces together. The club is overseen by Miss De Ste Croix, Head of Dance, and supported by sixth form students.
Dance Club is different from the other clubs we offer in the department in that it is not a teacher led session. Students of all ages are invited to come and use a safe environment to work on their own choreographic ideas with the support of staff. They do not learn set material, but will develop choreographic skills and have the freedom to create their own work.
This successful and popular boys' breakdance group has appeared at dance festivals and at Plymouth Raiders games.
