The idea was that staff would pick up valuable knowledge that they could use in their classrooms and make links with industry that could be used to improve the quality of learning.
Work placements varied enormously, from two staff members who spent the day at funeral parlours, to History teacher Jonathan Cripps (pictured top right) who test drove high performance cars, and Construction Teacher Chris Neve (centre right) who learned how to design and build stage sets at The Theatre Royal, Plymouth.
Other staff members spent the day in such varied activities as working with the police dog handling team, in a childrens' nursery (below right), at Pelynt Cattery and testing beer taps!
The organiser of the day, Jonathon Plunkett, the college's Enterprise Education co-coordinator, said that "the day was a great opportunity for staff to get out of the class room and experience the "real" world for a day. The students will benefit enormously from the staff's new contacts."
