A group of year 11 Certificate in Community Volunteering students organised a fantastic fashion show for Comic Relief on the 13th March.
Teachers bravely volunteered to dress up and walk the catwalk in front of Year 7 students.
Sixth form student Josh Bratchley hosted the show, managing over-excited teachers magnificently. Head of Year 7 Mr Moore, dressed in a beautiful peach evening gown, and Dawn McIntyre from the canteen, who engaged all the students in an African song were the overwhelming successes of the catwalk. Students were given the option of donating money, and their generosity resulted in nearly £70 being raised.
One student claimed it was "the best day of my life".
A number of other events were also organised for Red Nose Day. Students all paid a pound to attend in non-uniform. A few students walked to school from their villages, some turned up in pyjamas and others managed to complete sponsored silences. The Learning Support Unit raised money selling buns, the PE department organised a football penalty shootout and the Student Council baked and sold cakes.
In total students and teachers raised £1695.
