Introduction - Maths Department

The Maths department is a thriving, creative department where we endeavour to offer every student the support and encouragement they need.

We have very high expectations of our students and expect them to have them of us also. We encourage the learning of mathematics using problem solving skills where ever possible as we know that they will play a vital role in adult life.

Many students are nervous of mathematics so we aim provide students with a supportive environment to overcome that fear.

We believe that:

The only stupid question is the question that you do not ask.

To help students support their own learning we subscribe to an excellent website called www.mymaths.co.uk

The login details can be found on Fronter or in student's maths books. The site covers all levels at KS 3 and all GCSE grades. There are fun games to consolidate understanding based around popular TV shows such as who wants to be a millionaire.

The site is also expanding to include AS-Level.

Maths staff are available after school every Thursday in D8 until 4.30pm

for any maths related help that may be needed.
